How dispatch works from Woodstock
Orders are picked and packed from our Woodstock base in Cape Town, then handed to a delivery partner or courier service depending on where the parcel is going. Because many pieces are handmade and some are made to order, dispatch can vary by item, stock level and the size of your order.
When an item is ready to leave our studio, we prepare it with protective packing so it can handle the trip from the Western Cape to inland centres and coastal towns. If your cart includes mixed items, such as ceramics with woven textiles or wood decor, the parcel may be packed in more than one box to keep everything safe.
- Small orders are usually grouped into one parcel where possible
- Fragile pieces are wrapped separately with added cushioning
- Gift wrapping and notes are added before the parcel leaves Woodstock
- Large or mixed orders may be split for safer transport
Where we deliver across South Africa
We deliver nationwide, including Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, Pretoria and Stellenbosch. Delivery also covers the Southern Suburbs, Atlantic Seaboard, Woodstock and other surrounding Cape Town areas. If you are sending a gift to a flat in the city, a home in the suburbs or a work address in another province, we can arrange the parcel to fit the address type.
For outlying addresses, estates and workplaces with specific security rules, it helps to include access details in the order notes. That can save time at the gate or reception, especially where the driver needs a unit number, estate code or floor level.

Packing standards for ceramics, textiles and wood
Ceramics are packed with extra care because rims, handles and glazed surfaces need protection from knocks. Textiles are folded to reduce creasing, then placed so they do not rub against sharp edges or rough wood grain. Wood items are checked for corners, joints and surface marks before packing, since natural timber can pick up scuffs in transit if left loose.
We use the same careful packing approach for homeware sets, wedding orders and corporate bundles. In humid coastal conditions, especially around Durban and Cape Town, items are kept dry and wrapped cleanly so moisture does not settle into the parcel. If an order contains a glazed bowl, a table runner and a carved tray, each piece is packed to suit its material.
- Fragile ceramics get layered cushioning
- Textiles are kept separate from ceramics and rough wood
- Decor items with small parts are sealed so nothing shifts in transit
- Gift boxes are packed to protect both the contents and the presentation
Tracking, handover and delivery steps
Once your parcel is packed, it is handed over with the delivery details supplied for the order. From there, the courier follows the address and the service level chosen for that parcel. If the delivery is heading to a busy business district in Johannesburg or a home in Stellenbosch, the route and access instructions need to be clear so the handover runs smoothly.
If a package is delayed by weather, road conditions or access issues at the delivery address, we work through the parcel notes and the handover information to help resolve it. For complex orders such as bulk gifts or registry bundles, we recommend listing the receiver name, address, floor or unit number and any delivery instructions needed at the property.
Gift orders, notes and registry parcels
Gift orders can be wrapped and labelled before dispatch. We can include a gift note, curated box or housewarming set, and we can separate parcels where one part is for the recipient and another part is to be kept aside. Wedding gifting and corporate gifting often need a little extra structure, so we sort those parcels carefully before collection.
If you are arranging a gift registry or a bulk bundle, the easiest approach is to keep the delivery details consistent and let us know which pieces should travel together. That helps when sending several homeware items to one address, or when parcels need to be split between family homes, offices or event venues.
- Gift notes can be added during order placement
- Curated gift boxes are packed as a unit where possible
- Registry and bulk parcels may need item-by-item checking before dispatch
- Corporate orders can be labelled for multiple delivery points
Care checks after your parcel arrives
When your parcel arrives, open it soon and check the contents against your order. For ceramics, look for chips, cracks or glaze marks. For textiles, check the weave, stitching and finish. For wood pieces, inspect the surface, corners and joinery. A quick check at delivery makes it easier to sort out a replacement if anything travelled badly.
For care advice, use the material-specific guidance that comes with the order or ask through the enquiry form on our contact page. Gentle washing, dry storage and careful handling help handmade homeware last longer, especially in homes close to the coast where humidity can affect natural fibres and timber over time.
- Wash ceramics by hand unless the item notes otherwise
- Air-dry textiles flat or on a line away from strong direct sun
- Wipe wood with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth
- Keep decor items out of heavy moisture where possible
